This Privacy Policy explains what information Mónvia collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account details (name, username, email, password), profile information you choose to add (bio, location, birthdate, avatar), and the trips, photos, comments, and cost entries you create or upload.
2. How we use your information
To run the app: authenticating you, showing your feed and profile, sending you notifications you've opted into, and sending account emails such as a registration confirmation or a password reset link.
3. Public vs. private data
Your account visibility setting (public or private, changeable in Settings) controls who can see your profile and trips. A private account's profile details and trips are only visible to you and your approved followers.
4. Sharing with other users
Trip information you add — like traveler names, comments, cost splits, and shared photos — is visible to the other travelers on that trip, and, depending on your visibility settings, to your followers or the public.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on our servers with reasonable technical safeguards (encrypted passwords, access controls). No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
6. Your rights
You can access and update most of your information directly in Settings, and delete your account (and associated content) at any time. Contact us if you need help exercising any other data rights.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences like your language. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
8. Children's privacy
Mónvia isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves; significant changes will be communicated in the app.
